The Athena Swan / Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee (AS/EDISC) focuses on advancing gender equality across all disciplines and professional, managerial, and support areas, including gender identity and the intersectionality of gender with other categories of equality. Under its terms of references, it supports the institution in its efforts to achieve Athena Swan awards and leads on gender initiatives embedding gender equality/EDI across the institution. The members of the committee oversaw UL's recent successful submission to Athena Swan Ireland for a Silver Athena Swan Award.
