Dr Deirdre Ní Loingsigh led this Symposium on building positive institutions and organisational language competence at the International Psychology of Language Learning (PLL5) conference in Madrid in May 2024, and presented a paper ‘Language Coaching in the Organisational Context: Professional Development, Positive Leadership and Advocacy’ at this symposium. Other symposium participants were Louise Varagnolo, Strategic Advisor, Official Languages Centre of Excellence, Government of Canada, and Ifor Gruffydd, Director of Learn Welsh North West (Welsh language teaching Centre for adults at Bangor University), and Dr. Carsten Quell, Executive Director, Official Languages Centre of Excellence, Government of Canada was discussant.
