Organisation profile
The Centre for Early Modern Studies, Limerick supports the research activities of scholars of the history and culture of the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries at University of Limerick and Mary Immaculate College. The Centre stimulates interdisciplinary engagement and seeks to enhance the environment for intellectual exchange between its members. The Centre also promotes postgraduate studies and postdoctoral research. The Centre will draw on the wealth of material in the Bolton Collection, Glucksman Library, UL and other collections to promote early modern studies. The Centre emerges from Limerick Early Modern Studies Forum which was established in February 2015 following the award of funding from the Irish Research Council New Foundations Scheme. The Centre was launched on 13th October, 2016.
