Biography

Amir is Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the School of Medicine, University of Limerick. His recent research focuses on the use of Statistical Modelling & Machine Learning in cancer research, and developing risk prediction models to facilitate clinical decision-making. He is passionate about communicating statistical findings in biomedical research, and developed R packages and tools (e.g DynNom package in R) to support the use of statistical models for individual prognosis and diagnosis purposes. Amir is the secretary of the Young Statisticians Section of the Irish Statistical Association (Young-ISA), and the editorial board of Young Statisticians Europe (YSE).
