Biography

Dr. Longo holds a Bachelor and a Master's degree in Forestry from the Santa Catarina State University (Brazil), and a Dr. rer. nat. title from the University of Freiburg (Germany). Previous works include projects linking forest inventory measurements to sawn timber quality parameters, and characterising internal log quality features (Forest Research Institute of Baden-Württemberg, Germany); and evaluating the suitability of alternative forest species to the current and future Irish climates (Teagasc, Ireland). She currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Limerick in the AdaptForRes project, in which the focus is to explore climate-smart options for Irish forestry, evaluating the impact of different forest management strategies on carbon storage.
