Research Interests

Christina Hayes is a PhD researcher in Population Health and Health Services Researcg in the School of Allied Health at the University of Limerick. She has an interest in health research in ageing, community-based and integrated care reflecting her professional background in physiotherapy. She is a member of the Health Research Institute and the Ageing Research Centre at UL.

Biography

Christina graduated from the University of Limerick (UL) with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy in 2020. She worked clinically before beginning a PhD in the School of Allied Health at UL in 2021. Christina is scholar of the renowned Structured Population Health and Health Services Research Education (SPHeRE) programme in Ireland. Working with older people in both the acute and primary care settings sparked Christina’s main research interest in integrated care strategies for community-dwelling older people. The focus of her PhD thesis is around developing an evidence-based and stakeholder informed model of integrated care for older adults living in the community. Christina is a member of the Health Research Institute and Ageing Research Centre at UL, as well as a current member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
