Biography

Sport & Exercise Accredited Chartered Physiotherapist and Assistant Professor. Passionate about combining teaching, researchh and clinical practice. 
 
Clinical practice predominatly in elite sport (rugby/athletics).
Previously Clinical Tutor/Special Lecturer and Clinical Physiotherapist in University College Dublin (2015-2022)
 
BSc Physiotherapy, MSc Sports Physiotherapy, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, PhD Athlete Pain (UCD School of Public Health Physiotherapy & Sport Science and Insight Centre for Data Analytics, Dublin)

Research Interests

Primary research area is working with athletes and clinicians to understand, assess and better manage athlete pain. (PhD; Development of an Athlete Upper & Lower Limb Pain Assessment Framework, with associated publications

Active researcher in Social determinants of health/social inclusion in healthcare education, connected health, open science, sports and exercise medicine,  behaviour change and innovation in education.

Research skills include qualitative research methods, consensus generation methods and developing and delivering large reviews. 

I value the voice of the patient/athelte and those who my research may impact.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Social Determinants of Health, Innovation and Management, Sports Physitherapy, Innovation in Education and real-world learning.
