Personal profile
Research Interests
Since encountering the principles of Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, I have been investigating how these principles can have an impact on how classical music is taught and performed. This was the subject of my PhD, in which I investigated the impact of Dalcroze Eurhythmics on my own practice as a classically trained violinist. In my role as the artistic director of the Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy (of string students and ICO performers), I have introduced innovative performance practices, which have radically transformed how my students prepare and perform repertoire. It has also had a significant impact on how the audience perceives the idea of how the music moves.
Teaching Interests
I teach primarily on the MA Classical String Performance, and the subjects I cover are: violin, chamber music, Dalcroze, Kodaly and improvisation. I also teach violin privately from beginners up to professional level.

She is in huge demand as a chamber musician, performing at major international festivals. In other genres she has performed alongside and recorded with Sir Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, The Corrs, Bono, Shania Twain, Katie Melua and plays in her own gypsy jazz trio.
