Biography

Fidelma is the Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Haematology in Cancer Services Directorate University Hospital Limerick since April 2021. Fidelma has worked in Haematology-Oncology nursing for many years including in the Bone marrow transplant unit in St James Hospital, in the Middle- East, Australia and prior to this role as a Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist in University Hospital Limerick. She has undertaken research and has published in the area of lymphoma survivorship and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia. Fidelma is currently studying part-time in University of Limerick undertaking a PhD in the experience of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia from the patient, care partner and healthcare professional perspective. Fidelmas’ supervisors are Prof Pauline Meskell, Prof Rose Galvin and Prof Ruth Clifford.
