Research Interests

My current research examines representations of the pastoral mode in queer Irish poetry. It considers how Mary Montague, Colette Bryce, Annemarie Ní Churreáin, and Seán Hewitt employ landscape to negotiate the growing assimilation of queer communities into contemporary Irish society. They expose the violent histories embedded in rural Irish landscapes, revealing how Ireland’s regulation of gender and sexuality interacts with both its colonial past and the escalating climate crisis.

My research interests include:

  • Environmental Humanities
  • Memory Studies

My creative writing has also appeared in numerous literary journals, including HOWL magazine. I was the winner of the inaugural Soundings Poetry conference in collaboration with South Eastern Technological University.
