Research Interests

Jessica L. Smith-Osorio is a third-year PhD student in the Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick (UL) in Ireland under the supervision of Micheál Scanlon. Her studies are focused on electrosynthesis at the liquid-liquid interfaces and electrocatalysis modelling.

Biography

Current research field is the electrochemistry at the liquid|liquid interfaces with contributions:

  • Implementation of mathematical models for the generation of photocurrents via Oxygen reduction reaction at the liquid|liquid interfaces.
  • Electrosynthesis of conducting polymer composites with potential applications in biosensing and biocompatibility of energy storage devices.

Jessica was awarded in 2023 with the Honorous Master's Thesis: Outstanding Magna Cum Laude for her contribution in the optimization and validation of coulometric methods for the amount of substance determination in the INM Colombia
