Biography

Dr Jill Pearson is a Chartered Work and Organisational Psychologist who has been lecturing at the University of Limerick for over 25 years in the areas of organisational behaviour, employee wellbeing, careers, and research methods. She has been recognised for teaching impact at the University of Limerick. Jill has taken a leading role in the field of Work & Organisational Psychology for the past 20 years, serving as the inaugural Programme Director of the MSc in Work and Organisational Psychology/Behaviour at the University of Limerick, a role she returned to in 2025. During that time, she served on several national committees at the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and its Division of Work & Organisational Psychology (DWOP). Jill is a former Government of Ireland Scholar (IRCHSS). Prior to joining UL, Jill taught at the London Business School and the London School of Economics. She has also worked as a Consultant to a number of multinationals and as an HR Practitioner in both the private and public sectors. Jill received her PhD from the University of Limerick in 2022, her MSc in Industrial Relations and; Personnel Management from the London School of Economics in 1990, and her BA (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1986. Her research focuses primarily on the area of careers and career success.
