Biography

Julia Weiss joined the University of Limerick as DAAD-Lektorin in the School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics (German Section) in September 2024.

Prior to her position at UL, she was DAAD teaching assistant at the University of Galway in 2023/24. She graduated from the University of Würzburg in Germany with a state-examination degree (equivalent to Master's degree) in English and History for secondary school teaching as well as with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Latin Philology.

Julia is currently teaching in several modules connected to German Studies including literature, culture and language as well as Business German at levels A2-B2. In her role as DAAD Lektorin she is organising extracurricular events which give students an easily approachable insight into German culture and advises students about DAAD scholarships and ways to study and work in Germany.
