Biography
Kevin Murphy was born in 1972.
Graduated 1994 Computer Engineering- B.Eng(Hons) University of Limerick.
Worked in Analog Devices from 1994 – 1997 as software engineer assisting simulation of integrated circuits.
Joined University of Limerick as a telecommunications lecturer in 1999.
Completed M.Eng in 2001 on signal processing for magnetic recording under supervision of Dr John Nelson/Dr Tom Conway.
Completed Ph.D 2006 on Ultrawideband receiver design under supervision of Dr Sean McGrath.
Lecturer at UL since 1999, primary interest is signal processing for communications engineering and computer networking.
Research Interests
Member of Dr McGrath Wireless Access Research group in 2010s.
Data architect on E-bike scheme in UL, SEAI National Energy RD&D 642718 (PI James Green) 2023/24
Industrial collaboration with Arista on future networks project – Software defined networking,data centre architectures (Diogo Mendes) 2024-2026
