Liam (he/him) is an Assistant Professor in Law at the School of Law, University of Limerick. A graduate of University College Cork (BCL International, 2020; LLM Children Rights and Family Law, 2021) and Dublin City University (PhD, 2025), Liam's research and teaching interests focus on criminal justice, victimology, children's rights and family law. At present, Liam teaches modules in child law, police and judicial co-operation in the European Union and criminology, having previouly lectured in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including law of torts, law of evidence, EU law, family law, human rights law and legal skills. Liam's current research focuses on the rights of victims of crime, particularly the right to compensation. Liam has published his research in national and international peer reviewed journals, along with edited collections. Liam has presented his research at national and international academic conferences and to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Home Affairs and Migration. He is a member of the Irish Association of Law Teachers and the Socio-Legal Studies Association.
