Biography

Dr Lilian Motti is an Associate Professor in Interaction Design, in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, at University of Limerick, in Ireland.

Her core research interests are User Experience and User Centred Design applied to health technologies, movement analysis, digital accessibility, as well as Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

Dr Motti holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Toulouse, France. During her PhD research, Dr Motti started using motion capture technologies to investigate how the movements of older adults affect their interaction with touchscreen devices.

As postdoctoral researcher, she was a principal investigator funded under the programmme Marie Sklodowska-Curie Career FIT fellow at University College Dublin, affiliated to CeADAR – Centre for Applied Data Analytics &AI, and the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sport Sciences, with industry placement at Kinesis Health Technologies Ltd.  Her research focused on improving user experience and quality of data capture in health technologies, applied to gait analysis and digital health interventions.

Her second postdoctoral research, funded by Science Foundation Ireland RD&I Fellowship, looked at holographic and 3D interaction in partnership with Analog Devices.

She is currently supervising projects related to Digital Health interventions, Educational Data Mining, Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Accessibility of 3D/VR interactions.
