Biography

Louise Crowley is Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, in addition to working as a part-time General Practitioner. She graduated from University College Dublin in 1998. After completing her intern year, Dr Crowley embarked on a career in Paediatrics and worked in this discipline to Specialist Registrar level, working in Paediatric units in Ireland and Australia.In 2005 she opted to pursue a career in General Practice, and completed vocational training in both Irish Hospitals and in general practices in the UK. Since 2007, she has been working part-time as a locum General Practitioner (GP) in Limerick City and County.In 2008, Associate Professor Crowley became involved in teaching in the School of Medicine, initially as a Problem Based Learning (PBL) tutor, and then subsequently as a clinical skills tutor, and an anatomical skills tutor. She has also held the position of Paediatric Clinical Tutor in the School of Medicine. In 2010, Louise acted as Clinical Coordinator of the Year 1 Clinical Skills Programme.  Since 2011, she has been Clinical Coordinator of the Year 2 Clinical Skills Programme. Associate Professor Crowley was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Clinical skills at the School of Medicine in June 2014. She is currently working towards completion of a Masters in Medical Education, via the Centre of Medical Education in Dundee.
