Biography

Dr. Marcus O’Mahony  is a Principal Investigator and leads a research group in the compaction and PAT measurement of powdered biopharma materials. He has contributed to biopharma/pharmaceutical science for over 10 years. He received his PhD from the University of Limerick, completed postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT, and later went on to become a subject matter expert working as a process scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in the US. 

His publications include 26 articles and one book chapter, including 16 peer reviewed research articles as well as 10 technical industry white paper articles and reports. He has filed five patents in the areas of novel pharmaceutical formulations, equipment design, and sensor related technologies. He is passionate about innovative teaching and research, to enhance data-driven problem solving across the biopharmaceutical sciences.
