Biography
Petra joined the University of Limerick in 2020 as an Associate Professor in Education with Guidance Counselling. She is currently the Assistant Dean of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the EHS Faculty, as well as Course Director for the MA in Guidance Counselling and Lifespan Development in the School of Education. She has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students on modules such as career development, research methods and inclusive education. Petra has chaired the School of Education Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) committee since 2022, which successfully applied for, and was awarded the Athena Swan Bronze award in 2023. She has also been a member of the EHS EDI committee and led one of the Task Area groups. Petra serves as an External Examiner of a postgraduate programme in Maynooth University and is involved in a number of international projects related to inclusive education and critical perspectives on careers.
