Biography
Ray is an Associate Professor in Education within the School of Education at the University of Limerick and has been teaching in the area of Initial Teacher Education since 2006. His teaching interests are in the area of understanding classroom and school practices. He is the former Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in UL's Faculty of Education and Health Sciences (EHS) from 2016 to 2022. In this role he supported the development and accreditation of several new programme offerings in UL. Following this he also served as the Associate Vice President for Graduate and Professional Studies at the University of Limerick until 2024. He was the recipient of the President’s Staff Excellence Award 2020 in the Exceptional Team Member category, as well as receiving the Excellence in Teaching (Team), EHS Faculty Award in 2019.
