Personal profile

Biography

Having completed my undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy the University of Limerick, I have since worked in private practice and within the School of Health and Human Performance in Dublin City University. I have a particular interest in lifelong healthg, with an evolving research profile. My PhD studies, supervised by Prof Kieran Moran and Dr Enda Whyte of Dublin City University and funded by Insight SFI Centre for Data Analytics, investigated the factors associated with running injuries among recreational runners, involving a large scale, prospective study with the collection of both biomechanical and clinically focused data.

At present, my role involves lecturing on the BSc and MSc in Physiotherapy programmes within the School of Allied Health, as well as acting as course director for two of our prostgraduate programmes. As an Evidence Synthesis Ireland Fellow, I am highly engaged in evidence synthesis, colloborating in the areas of cancer, generational dance and researching evidence synthesis methodologies themselves. My research interests span the areas of cancer, ageing and healthcare education.
