Biography
Dr Seán Redmond, Adjunct Professor of Youth Justice, is seconded by the Department of Justice to the School of Law, University of Limerick (UL). Seán is leading the project REPPP - Research Evidence into Policy, Programmes and Practice, a joint DOJ/UL parttnership to develop the evidence base to improve youth crime policy decision-making in Ireland.
Dr Redmond is co-founder of the research cluster Health Implementation Science and Technology Research Cluster at University of Limerick, the precursor of the Centre for Implementation Research at UL.
From 2012-2016 Seán worked in the Research and Evaluation Unit of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs with the lead responsibility for evaluation. Seán had lead responsibility for the Value for Money and Policy Review of €34 million targeted Youth Programmes.
Over the last 25 years Sean has held positions as:
- Head of Young Offender Programmes Irish Youth Justice Service;
- Assistant Director of Children's Services, Barnardos;
- Director PACE prisoners' resettlement service.
