Biography

Dr Subir Halder is an Associate Professor B in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, India in 2015. After his Ph.D., he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, India from 2015-2017. In 2017-2021, he worked as a Post-Doc researcher in the SPRITZ research group at the University of Padua, Italy. During his tenure, he worked in several research projects primarily funded by European Commission under H2020 framework and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Singapore. After that, he worked as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at the University of Limerick, Ireland from 2021 to 2023.
Subir s main research interests include security and privacy in cyber physical systems, IoT, autonomous vehicles, controller area network. He has published several papers in top reference journals, e.g., IEEE TWC, IEEE TCC, FGCS, COMNET and many papers in top international conferences e.g., IEEE CNS, IEEE ICC, CCNC, NOMS, ACM SAC, ICDCN. In addition, he has filed a patent application jointly with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. for the invention of policy-based automotive secure over-the-air software update technique. He is a recipient of 3 Best Paper Awards in reputed conferences like IEEE Wireless ViTAE, ICA3PP, ACM DADS track and runner up for the best paper in ACM SAC.
