Biography

Dr. Syed Ali Abbas is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemical Sciences at the University of Limerick. With over 12 years of experience in high-capacity lithium-ion battery systems, his research focuses on cathode materials such as sulfur and LFP, as well as anode materials like polyoxometalates, LTO, and graphene. He has developed techniques to modify pristine separators for improved performance in Li-ion and Li-S batteries. His work also explores lithium dendrite formation, strategies to mitigate their growth on lithium metal, and optimizing the ionic conductivity of inorganic/organic solid-state electrolytes for ambient-temperature applications
