My research interests include critical discourse analysis, media discourse, corpus linguistics, intercultural media relations, German-Irish relations, virtual exchange, post-war German literature and stylistics.
My teaching interests include German and Swiss literature, culture and society; translation and interpreting theory and practice and teaching German as a foreign language.
Veronica O'Regan received a PhD in German Literature from the National University of Ireland (UCC) and is Associate Professor in German Studies at the School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics, at the University of Limerick. She is a member of the Centre for Applied Language Studies, Centre for European Studies and the Centre for Irish-German Studies. Her research interests include critical discourse analysis, political & media discourse, corpus linguistics, intercultural media relations, language learning & virtual exchange, post-war German literature and stylistics
