Research Interests

My research tackles the critical CPU bottlenecks in Artificial Intelligence and High-performance Computing Data Center workloads by developing novel hardware acceleration and operating systems technologies.

Doctoral Research Focus & Industry Background

  • Core Domains: Inter-networking, Operating Systems, and Computer Architecture.

  • Industry Experience: Over 25 years of applied engineering and systems architecture experience spanning Microsoft Azure Core AI/HPC, Intel R&D (two tenures), Huawei Research Center, and Motorola Computer Group.

  • Primary Objective: Hardware acceleration of AI and HPC data center workloads to overcome CPU bottlenecks in high-throughput environments.

  • Current Project: Developing a novel System-on-Chip, a secure, multi-tenant eBPF hardware accelerator built natively on the open RISC-V instruction set architecture.

  • Key Technologies: extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF), RISC-V SoC design, and Hardware-enforced memory isolation with Trusted Execution Environments.
