Biography

Yonit (aka Jolie) Kosovske performs as a soloist, collaborative musician, and interdisciplinary artist on piano, harpsichord, fortepiano, chamber organ, and clavichord. Dedicated to repertoire 1500s through Contemporary, she champions music within and outside of the mainstream canon of Classical Western Art Music, with a special interest in commissioning and performing works by contemporary composers. As an active recitalist, Yonit frequently accompanies vocalists in multiple genres, including Art Song (1600s–Contemporary), Oratorio, and Opera. She has curated and directed imaginative projects around Ireland and further afield throughout Europe, North America, South America, and the Middle East. She has performed with renowned musicians and leading ensembles, including Irish Baroque Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, Limerick New Music Ensemble, Musici Ireland, Sestina, Resurgam, Chamber Choir Ireland, Ancór, Sagittarius Hiberniensis, Galway Baroque, English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, Lipzodes, among many others. Yonit is founding co-director of the annual Limerick Early Music Festival, the year round series H.I.P.S.T.E.R. (Historically Informed Performance Series, Teaching, Education and Research), and WAVE~LINKS, a documentary film series exploring connections between music-making and artisanry.
