Description

Runner up for the 2004 "Irish Case Studies in Entrepreneurship" competition. The competition was sponsored by Enterprise Ireland and received €1,000 in prize money. The award was presented at the Irish Academy of Management Conference in Trinity College Dublin. The case was published in a book of cases in 2005. Over 2,500 books were published and these were distributed to all third-level institutions. The case was titled "Philip Kenny Designs". The case covers areas such as branding, marketing communications on a very small budget, establishing trade relations with retailers, the importance of pricing, and strategic market management. The case illustrates the typical marketing challenges faced by Irish SME companies.
