Abstract
The open source software, more precisely known as free and open source software (F/OSS), has emerged as one popular solution to the software crisis. Two factors have contributed to this. One is the observation in Europe that most developers are in stable cohabiting relationship, often with children, and are experienced IT professionals paid for their work on F/OSS projects. Another is that implementing F/OSS results in significant savings.
