A fibre optic based sensor for the detection of DNA damage in single nuclei

Abstract

A novel method for the detection of damage to cell DNA is reported which may be used to provide valuable information on neoplastic diseases. Single mode fibres are used to interrogate the processed which results in a spatial resolution of 100 µm.
