Abstract

In this chapter, we read the story of Diego, a Spanish physical education teacher who made an attempt to introduce his third-grade students to Sport Education. Our hope was that a narrative approach, otherwise known as reauthoring conver-sations (White, 1995), could contribute to the skills and knowledge that inform teaching Sport Education as a novice user. We wanted to know the key factors that led to a successful (or problematic) introduction of the model for a teacher and his students. We also wanted to better understand the key components necessary for Spanish teachers wishing to undertake a similar adventure. In addition, we sought to discover and understand the meaning the teacher took from the experience and the extent to which he thought it might affect his future practice.
