Abstract

A unique silicate-bridged octanuclear dysprosium cluster [Dy 8SiO4] was produced using 2-{[(2-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl) methylidene]amino}benzoic acid (H2L) and silicate as ligands. This intriguing compound shows field-induced slow relaxation of magnetization.
