Abstract

This paper addresses the Fault-Tolerant topology control problem in a heterogeneous wireless sensor network consisting of resource-abundant cluster nodes and resource-constrained common nodes. Traditionally, the network redundancy can increase its robustness. K-Connectivity means that each node or some special nodes keep at least k disjoint paths and is an effective method of providing fault tolerance. In this paper, an efficient algorithm is introduced to construct an approximate K-Connectivity network topology. NS-2 is adopted as the simulation tool to investigate the network topology and performance. Results are presented to verify the algorithm.
