Abstract

Within two months of the ending of the Second World War and in the aftermath of the worst state-perpetrated genocide ever to occur, an unpublished report by Nora Katzenstein noted the 'unmistakable signs of a growth in anti-Semitism, more or less virulent, throughout Europe in almost every country, with very few exceptions, even in such countries where anti-Semitism was practically unknown before the war'.
