Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based healthcare systems represent a transformative paradigm in connected networks, integrating smart devices for sensing, monitoring, and data communication. These systems leverage intelligent technologies and architectures to improve diagnostics, treatment, patient care, and administrative processes. This chapter explores the evolution and foundational concepts of AI-driven smart healthcare networks, delving into their applications, enabling technologies, and complex topologies. Additionally, the chapter highlights critical components, including communication standards, security requirements, and resource management strategies, essential for optimizing network performance. Despite their promise, these systems face challenges related to complexity and degraded network services, which open avenues for future research. By addressing these aspects, this chapter aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI's potential in revolutionizing healthcare.
