Abstract
In April 2026, Dr Yonit Kosovske will collaborate with Dr Xenia Pestova Bennett and Sarah Groser as Artists in Residence at the Sonorities Festival of New Music in Belfast, UK. The residency will focus on researching and performing contemporary repertoire from a 2025 callout for scores featuring various instrumental combinations of harpsichord, toy piano, and viola da gamba. Included on their forthcoming performance at this festival will be the UK premiere of "BAILE/home" by Xenia Pestova Bennett. The work, which uses traditional and extended techniques, is composed for harpsichord, toy piano, viola da gamba, egg slicer, bells, electronics, and recorded voices reflecting on the universal themes of home, migration, and belonging. They will also perform works by Matías Padellaro, Elaine McCabe, Anna-Kaise Meklin, Luis Fernando Sánchez García, Karlheinz Essl, and Janet Oates.
