Abstract
Maleic anhydride is produced via catalytic oxidation of butane over a vanadium-phosphorus oxide (VPO) catalyst using a feed containing about 1.5% nB in air. The addition of CO2 to the reaction mixture for the oxidation of butane over VPO is investigated. Results showed that the process gives rise to significantly improved yields of maleic anhydride.
