N2 - Haemodialysis (HD) is one of the temporary solutions against renal replacement in developed as well as developing countries. Due to economic conditions rates of the renal treatment is increasing and becoming a major problem for the common man. It’s like breaking the backbone for the middle class people. By implementing proper method of using the dialyzer again on the same patient can effectively reduce the cost for haemodialysis Effective reuse of can surely help in reducing the expense for the patient. It also reduces the consumption of more dialyzer since we can use a one dialyzer for treating the same patient for 5 times. The reuse of dialyzer is still very less in developing countries like India where different climatic conditions such as summer or winters occurs. There is still a fear in the mind of the people about the infections in the dialyzer for using it again. This study was done to understand that dialyzer can be reused again without causing a major effect on the dialysis treatment. Dialyzer reuse is cost saving technique and better option in developing countries like India. This study includes various methods of reusing the dialyzer in the proper manner. Patient suffering from this disease has to undergo dialysis treatment at least 2 times in the week. This no. can be increased or decreased depending upon the patient size, weight, age and many others factors. Every patient was dialysed 5 times by using same dialyser after washing with the distilled water or with formaldehyde around 3%-4%. Before starting the dialysis and after completing the treatment for each session blood was collected and its components such as urea, creatinine, phosphate, vitamin B12, inulin, myoglobin in blood were measured. Kt/V and urea reduction ratio (URR) were also studied during this process. The whole study was done one patient and its result were worth full. This study also showed a cost saving of around 50%-60% per dialysis session. This study also showed the reuse of same dialyzer up to 5 times was useful and safe. Further, it was cost effective without causing any threat to patient’s life. Therefore, in Indian scenario, the reusing of dialyzer shall be encouraged which will help more patient to do get the dialysis treatment on the time.
