Abstract

To further improve the accuracy of the dosimeter (based on the plastic fibre) of the previous work from our group, a sensor based on silica fibre for clinical in-vivo dosimetry is presented. Results show that silica fibre have good linear relationship (R2 >= 0.9999) between the output and dose rate, and also exhibits a high optical intensity output, S/N ≈ 3 @300 μmin (Monitor Unit/min), and S/N ≈ 4.6 @600 μmin, which shows the potential of silica fibre to be a good candidate for the sensor used in the clinical in-vivo dosimetry.
