N2 - The authors regret that during recent additional review and analysis of the data included in this manuscript, some errors in the reported incidence rates and burden in tables and figures were detected. These errors have been listed below. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. In the results section of the abstract, the words “incidence rate” after HSI are missing, indicating that for hamstring strain injury (HSI) the increase is related to overall incidence and not only for match. In Table 2, errors were detected in some of the reported incidence rates: 2019 overall incidence rate for backs should be 3.8; 2019 training incidence rate for backs should be 0.6 and for 2021 should be 4.6; 2019 match incidence rate for backs should be 21.6; 2021 overall incidence rate should be 8.7; 2021 training incidence rate for forwards should be 4.0). As a result of incidence rate change, p values, should be 0.007 and 0.004. And all the injury burden numbers were subsequently corrected. In the section “most common diagnoses” of the manuscript, beginning of the paragraph, Table 3 shows the overall incidence rate instead of originally reported match incidence rate. The numbers of match incidence rate in the 2021 season and 2019 season for concussions were originally missing in the text: 4.46/1000 player-match-hours and 0.48/1000 player-match-hours, respectively. In Table 3, the heading was corrected adding (combined match and training) referring to overall incidence rates instead of match incidence. Injury burden numbers and incidence numbers for both seasons were corrected. In Fig. 1, concussion for 2019 was corrected, which should be 0 instead of 0.9. In Fig. 2 the title has been corrected. In the discussion, section 4.2 Incidence rates, severity, and burden, overall injury burden for both seasons were corrected with the information from Table 2; should be written 273.4 days lost/1000 player-hours vs 335.2 days lost/1000 player-hours respectively instead of 78 and 190, respectively. In section 4.4 Most common diagnosis and mechanisms between playing positions, regarding “Post-lockdown HSI match incidence rate was significantly higher (p < 0.001)”, it should be related to backs players and regarding the ankle sprain, the correct number for incidence rate (according to Table 3) is 0.34 instead of 1.79. Whilst this does not change the abstract or the overall conclusions and clinical implications of the study, the errors do change injury burden and incidence rates figures reported in the study. The amended figures and tables can be found below.
