Abstract

Sometimes crying over spilled milk isn't such a bad thing - especially if you're trying to produce electricity. Both tears and milk contain a protein called lysozyme that produces an electrical charge when squeezed. This new discovery begs the question: what could this be used for? In the future, this protein may serve as an energy-harvesting material to power medical devices.
