Abstract

The six papers in this section provide an insight into the Adventure Education Model, Fitness Model, Game/Sport Model, Personal and Social Responsibility, Skill-theme Model, Sport Education, and Teaching Games for Understanding. It will be noticeable to the reader that the importance of (i) teaching ‘in the moment’ - that is, being able to respond to what happens in an actual activity rather than relying on what you had previously intended the outcome to be, (ii) as physical education teachers we teach students physical education rather than teach physical education to students and (iii) the distinction between curriculum and instructional models, are three observations that are revisited in the responses to the papers in this section.
