Abstract

People and medical devices, including software, can't be separated in the healthcare environment, and clinical and software engineering staff often must work together to ensure software systems' success. However, this often results in conflicting definitions of success. A hospital quality assurance program (H-QAP) responds to the problems of a clinical environment. It is designed to overcome these conflicts through compliance with evidence-based best practices in patient and software systems management.
