Abstract
Interleukin 18, an inflammatory cytokine, mediates its effects by interaction with its receptor complex, consisting of the IL-18 receptor (IL- 18R) and receptor accessory protein (AcPL). A functional inhibitor of IL-18, the IL-18 binding protein (IL-18BP), has been identified recently. This study reports the detection of IL-18, IL-18R, AcPL and IL-18BP mRNA expression in the brain of normal adult rats using RT-PCR. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
