Abstract
Modern manufacturing plants often utilise a large number of field devices connected through a number of fieldbusses within the plant. These devices vary in functionality and the manner in which they communicate with one another. In order to ensure reliable operation of devices and the busses on which they reside, hardware and software is required to request, process and transfer the diagnostic information to the people and systems that may require it. This paper outlines the development of a web-based application that transfers diagnostic data from multiple fieldbusses to both local and remote users via a multi-interface fieldbus device.
