Abstract
Police Control Room (PCR) Vehicles, or vans, are mobile units used by the city police. The city police of Gandhinagar City in western India complained of bad design of the van dashboard resulting in user frustration, errors, and dull look and feel. The existing dashboard was a makeshift arrangement by the local vendors, designing it without any reference to the users. The research team was approached to address these issues. The team analyzed the design issues on the current dashboard from the users’ perspective and came up with two concept prototypes which were tested on the users with positive results.
