Abstract
In this paper, the implications for process design for various classes of marine bioproducts are reviewed. The potential of a thermodynamic framework to structure and quantify downstream processing alternatives for a wide range of marine bioproducts is demonstrated and the application of the framework is illustrated for two process options.
