Abstract
Yonit Kosovske co-authored an article with Dr Janet Oates in "Harpsichord and Fortepiano" Magazine, Spring 2026, volume 30, number 2. The article is a reflection on the transnational contemporary harpsichord commission and performance project "“Inventions: The Harpsichord Across Time and Borders” founded and curated by Janet Oates.
"Inventions: the harpsichord across time and borders is a project that began in 2023 to create new repertoire for the solo harpsichord by female composers working in England, Scotland Ireland, and Wales. The new pieces are inspired by and performed alongside historical pieces from their respective nations – creating an innovative and interesting programme which is then performed in each country, adapted to suit each performer. This article outlines the process of the project, which turned out to be as important as the results.
Collaborating harpsichordists:
Yonit Kosovske, Tiffany Vong, Katarzyna Kowalik, and Despina Homatidou
Collaborating composers:
Janet Oates, Lisa Robertson, Evangelia Rigaki, and Sarah Lianne Lewis
