Abstract
Preliminary results on reducibility and oxidizability of vanadium phosphorus oxide catalysts with differing P:V ratios are reported. Small amounts of phosphorus in excess of the stoichiometric amount strongly inhibit oxidation of the catalyst during calcination. No clear correlation seems to exist between the kinetics of reoxidation and the initial reactivity of the catalysts towards hydrogen.
