Abstract
Of the four papers designed to test or operationalize key aspects of the Theory of Work Adjustment, only one can be viewed as fully supportive. Two difficulties with tests and applications of the theory are identified: (a) difficulties in operationalizing key constructs, and (b) weak links with other disciplines involved in similar lines of research. Three suggestions for increasing the links between research on the Theory of Work Adjustment and Research in Industrial and Organizational Psychology are offered.
